Mark your calendars, loosen your belt buckles, and get ready to pig out: The foodiest festival in town is bringing home the bacon to Florida Sports Park on Saturday, February 16 this year. BaconFest Naples is a jam-packed, daylong celebration of the salty snack – and proof that bacon is not just for breakfast anymore.

Eat, Play, Fun

The family-friendly events and activities at BaconFest include live music, tastings from local restaurants and food trucks – chocolate chip cookies with maple frosting and bacon sprinkles, anyone? – and the always popular bacon-eating contest (for adults, juniors, and “li’l oinkers”). Past years have introduced festivalgoers to wild and wonderful concoctions in mouthwatering combinations, such as bacon cheeseburgers on donut buns, bacon-bourbon kebabs, bacon waffles on a stick, BLT cupcakes, margaritas with a bacon-and-jalapeño garnish, and even bacon treats for your four-legged friends. A team of lucky and hungry judges evaluates all the entries to determine winners in the “Best of Bacon” Awards.

What’s the Pig Idea?

BaconFest, now in its sixth year, is the brainchild of the Kiwanis Club of Northside Naples and the Kiwanis Club of Naples-on-the-Gulf, which donate 100 percent of net proceeds from the event to organizations working to help eliminate childhood hunger in southwest Florida. Buy your tickets today – and keep your eyes glued to the countdown clock!
