Chevrolet has made substantial changes to the 2022 Silverado 1500. The exterior was restyled with a new front fascia, new daytime running lamps that include a unique animated sequence, along with three new colors. The interior, however, only saw changes in the LT trims and up. Those changes included a more modern and upscale cabin that includes a standard 13.4-inch color touchscreen and 12.3-inch digital instrument display. The cabin is styled with new available colors, seat designs, and premium materials.
Chevrolet has also added an off-road ZR2 model that marries performance, immersive tech, and off-road capabilities into one package. The ZR2 houses a 6.2-liter, V8 engine, which generates 420 horsepower.

The Silverado 1500 received a new front fascia that includes an updated grille design and lower headlamps, which were designed to enhance the truck’s strength and stability. Changes to LT trims and above include revised wing-shaped running lamps that feature an animated lighting sequence. Additionally, three new colors were introduced: Dark Ash, Sand Dune, and Glacier Blue Metallic. You can also choose from a trio of special editions, including: LT Trail Boss Midnight Edition, Custom Rally Edition, and the RST Rally Edition.
On LT trims and above, Chevy has restyled the interior with new materials and designs that focus on improving comfort and spaciousness. A 13.4-inch touchscreen along with a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster come standard. The vertical elements of the instrument panel were replaced with horizontal lines to expand upon the cabin’s spaciousness. You can also choose a variety of new colors, seat designs, premium materials, such as open-pore wood trim on the console, upper glove box, doors, standard leather seating, stainless steel speaker grilles, and more.
The Silverado 1500 offers six powertrain choices including a Duramax 3.0-liter Turbo-Diesel, a 2.7-liter Turbo, and the advanced 6.2-liter V8 with Dynamic Fuel Management. The 2.7-liter received a bump in torque, going from 348 lb-ft in 2021 to 420 lb-ft in 2022. Towing with the 2.7-liter remains the same with a maximum of 9,600 pounds. The 3.0-liter inline 6-cylinder received a 4,000-pound increase in towing capability, bringing it up to 13,300 pounds.
