When you need massive amounts of cargo space, seating space, and up-to-date technology inside your family SUV, there’s not many that can rise to such an occasion. But thankfully, there is always the Chevrolet Suburban. The Suburban is one of Chevy’s oldest nameplates, dating back to the 1930s. The Suburban received a major update in the 2016 model year, and has continued to make minor adjustments each year since, including the 2020 model year.
The 2020 Suburban is much the same as the previous three years, delivering unmatched space, technology, and comfort for its passengers. For the 2020 model year, you’ll have your pick between three trim levels:
The LS trim starts things of on a good note with a 110-volt household-style outlet, four 12-volt outlets, a 4.2-inch color driver information center, a 4G LTE Wi-Fi hotspot, 6-speaker audio system, power-adjustable front seats, Bluetooth* connectivity, 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, HD radio, leather-wrapped steering wheel, remote start and entry, a rearview camera, and a host of safety features.
Moving up to the LT trim adds automatic emergency braking, a Bose 9-speaker sound system, enhanced driver alert package, forward collision alert, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, lane keep assist with lane departure warning, power adjustable pedals, a tilt and telescopic steering wheel, rear park assist, a safety alert seat, leather-appointed front seats, and a universal home remote.
The top Premier trim offers true luxury in the form of a Bose 10-speaker sound system, built-in navigation, front and rear park assist, heated and ventilated front seats, heated second-row seats, keyless open and start, lane change assist with side blind zone alert, a heated steering wheel, a power-folding third row, power second row captain’s chairs, power tilt and telescoping steering wheel, rear cross-traffic alert, leather upholstery, Sirius XM NavTraffic, and a wireless charging pad.

If there’s one thing the Suburban isn’t lacking, it’s space. This full-size SUV offers seating configurations for seven, eight, or even nine passengers, so you’ll have room for anyone who wants to tag along for the ride. Every trim is exquisitely crafted to offer luxury at every turn with available leather upholstery, heated and ventilated front seats, heated rear seats, and the most cutting-edge infotainment technology.
In addition to the copious passenger room, there’s also a generous amount of cargo space, too. Behind the third row you’ll find 39 cubic-feet of cargo space, and 76 cubic-feet when the third row is stowed. Stowing the second row, too, allows for 121 cubic-feet of space – enough for even moderate-sized furniture!
The Suburban is known for its handsome exterior styling, and this model year is no exception. You can complement the refined style of the Suburban with these exterior paint colors:
As beasty as the Suburban looks on the outside, its true might lies under the hood. The base powertrain is a 5.3-liter EcoTec3 V8 engine mated to a six-speed automatic transmission that manages 355 horsepower and 383 lb.-ft. of torque, though you can up the ante in the Limited trim with the available 6.2-liter EcoTec V8 engine that offers 420 horsepower and 460 lb.-ft. of torque. When properly equipped, Suburbans with the 5.3-liter engine can trailer up to 6,300 lbs. and Suburbans with the 6.2-liter engine can trailer up to 8,100 lbs.
